I am no one like that picture of
mario giacomelli or more photos in black and white
into the abyss
of childhood,
the light on the face and the peace of some Sundays
without peace-
but it was warm inside
sitting squat on centuries of names, faces unprecedented
cadences and dialect,
and some smiles
mirthless
my people
with stories botched,
poor or enriched,
their unspoken desires and suffering-
all the unsaid here
who now struggles to be poetry

Io sono nessuno come quella foto
di mario giacomelli o altre foto in bianco e nero
dentro l'abisso
dell' infanzia,
la luce sul viso e la pace di certe domeniche
senza pace-
ma si stava caldi dentro
seduti alla turca su secoli di nomi, facce mai viste
e cadenze dialettali,
e certi sorrisi
senza allegria
della mia gente
con storie malriuscite,
poveri o arricchiti,
le loro voglie taciute e sofferenze-
tutto il non detto qui
che ora stenta a farsi poesia
